The Church of Santa María - The Chapel of the Rosary
In 1644 an archway was opened
between this chapel and the chapel de Las Nieves. The side walls of the chapel bear murals from the
mid-17th century, attributed to Juan de Lohaiza. In the centre is the altar of Our Lady, La Virgen
del Rosario: this figure was worked in 1551 by Cristóbal Voisin and decorated and gilded by the
flemish artist Jácome Esturme. The present altar is of later date and the work of Andrés Benítez.
