Cuesta del Socorro
So called because of a hermitage
which used to be in this street; it was dedicated to the Virgen del Socorro (“Relief”), but has
long since disappeared. Ir is a pretty street, steep and full of beautiful surprises, such as the
balcony on the corner opposite Calle Cadenas. If you take this street, you will be following in the
footsteps of Pío Baroja, through “lonely little streets of white houses with wrought iron window
bars…”
